| The Waterhouse retreat is a haven of peace
set in beautiful rural South West Scotland. It is only minutes
away from stunning coastline and secluded beaches and the
jewel of the South, the Artists town and fishing port of Kirkcudbright.
A unique, hand crafted eco-wooden hideaway,
the Waterhouse (Kirkcudbright)
nestles gently in an acre of densely planted cottage garden,
heavily scented with roses, buddlia and honeysuckle. The Waterhouse
has become a wildlife sanctuary and the beautiful garden of
this luxury retreat in Galloway is teaming with an abundance
of bird species. Swallows nesting under the eves of The Waterhouse
are commonly seen swooping across the water.
The Waterhouse
has a spacious south facing sun deck which overhangs a large
water lily edged pond. A lower deck contains a luxury
Hot Tub. Just one of the comforts of this romantic
retreat, the Hot
Tub is heated and used all year round. A winter treat
for watching the clearest skies in Britain, as well as a relaxing
(relatively insect free) summers evening.
The Waterhouse, Dumfries and Galloway, offers
well equipped luxury
self catering accommodation, sleeping up to 4 people.
Leisurely evening meals using home grown seasonal vegetables
and local meat and fish, can also be enjoyed some evenings,
with the owners Martin and Sharon, who live in a well screened
cottage in the grounds.
The Waterhouse and gardens near Gelston, Kirkcudbright,
have a unique romantic ambience and are becoming a popular
venue for special events like honeymoons, romantic getaways
and anniversaries. The location of the Waterhouse in Dumfries
and Galloway makes it an ideal base for walking and cycling
breaks and nature loving family holidays. The secluded natural
setting is ideal for naturist
visitors, proving to be a very popular unique feature of a
holiday at The Waterhouse. Naturism is entirely optional and
non-naturists are equally welcome.
"The Boathouse" is a unique "Glamping"
style chalet, supplied by Wigwam Holidays, with an interior
added by the owners.
It sleeps 2 in a double bed and has an ensuite shower/w/c
room and a kitchen /dining area, all finished to a very high
standard.
It can only be booked as part of a booking for The Waterhouse.
The Waterhouse can still be booked on its own as in the past.
The Waterhouse sleeps up to 6 people.
4 in The Waterhouse and 2 in The Boathouse.
Both buildings, the hot tub and all of the 1 acre of gardens
are suitable for naturist use all year round.
